We are living in historic times. In ten years, we (as a nation) will look back on this time period and eventually come to the realization that -- the COVID-19 pandemic was real and comparable to the Great Depression and Spanish Flu. Times have changed and technology has driven us as a society to treat people with medical technology that previously was of science fiction. Therefore, losing nearly 200,000 deaths to COVID-19 is a kick in the face comparable to earlier times where a similar virus would have eradicated a society as a whole.
With that being said, NBC News correspondent Kasie Hunt of Kasie DC interviewed historian Jon Meacham recently on the importance of voting. In his latest book titled "His Truth Is Marching On: John Lewis and the Power of Hope," Jon Meacham discusses voting in society - the past and the present.
