French President Macron Calls On U.S. Congress To Save The Planet

Source: NBC

French President Emmanuel Macron has been a HUGE proponent of the Paris Agreement.  Further.  This week the French President visited the White House with his wife.  Next stop was the most important stop of his trip.  The reason why I say this is due to the prospect of pleading with U.S. Congress to take serious the looming threats of not taking action to mitigate (or reduce) greenhouse gases (GHG) along with other negative contributions to the environment.  The United States Congress was met with the following statement regarding the health of our planet from President Macron:

“We must find a smooth transition to a low-carbon economy. Because what is the meaning of our life, really, if we work and live destroying the planet, one sacrifice things for the future of our children. What is the meaning of our life if our decision, our conscious decision, is to reduce the opportunities for our children and grandchildren,”

President Macron is respected and admired by activist who believe that any help from other nations to attempt to talk sense into the U.S. politicians about the detrimental effects of climate change.   Which publicly is not easy.  Any public display of agreement by U.S. Congressional leaders as shown in the video below is support for initiatives which move the world toward renewable energy to reduce the impacts of climate change.  Here is a video which show the overwhelming support for the obvious notion that "... there is no planet B":

Take home message: Move toward renewable energy sources in an effort to lower the overall carbon footprint of the world as of right now.  Hopefully in doing so, the planet will not be ruined for future generations.

Conclusion...

Regardless of the personal opinions of people on the deniability of climate change, the world is moving toward renewable energy.  Investments are being lined up as we speak.  Each day uncovers new news of possible deals to convert over from a fossil fuel based economy to an economy fueled by energy which is less detrimental to the environment.  And this is a good initiative to pursue.  Why would we as stewards of the planet want to harm the planet on which each of us depend on?  That does not mean that each of us have to agree -- as stated in the video above.

Although, working toward a better future, one with jobs and a cleaner environment sounds good to me.  The future of renewable energy sources is exciting, why not get involved and learn what your part can be in the transition?  Change will arrive over time.  Progress on this scale does not occur over night.  Although, if change does not start to occur, change will never happen.  The last stage in which we as a nation want to find ourselves in is that of 'stagnation' -- where we are just dormant for years to come.  Let's start to advocate for change.
