Financial scams are abundant among the elderly who have saved up their entire lifetimes for retirement. Money prudently saved and invested. Money that is gone in the stroke of a pen writing a check. But that took a lifetime of hard work and effort to earn. Scams are abundant from outsiders. What happens when the scammers are among family members?
According to Bloomberg Financial Reporter, Tom Schoenberg, Beverley Schottenstein is one such unfortunate 93-year-old grandmother who experienced a scam from within her own family:
