By now, the entire world has seen the accomplished actor Will Smith walk up on stage at Oscar Ceremony and slap comedian Chris Rock. The event has drawn scrutiny from many news agencies across the spectrum. Along with that scrutiny has come judgment. Judgment from across the spectrum. Ranging from an ethical perspective to a psychological perspective.
This spectacular scene calls for analysis from experts in the intelligence community. In the following video, a body analysis expert analyzes the entire event from three perspectives: Will Smith, Jada Pinket, and Chris Rock. The video is around 30 minutes but worth watching:
For all of the little girls out there aspiring to be doctors and lawyers, watching the nomination hearing of Judge Ketanji Jackson in front of Congress must be very welcomed. Judge stands to be the first black woman elected to the Supreme Court -- 55 years after the first black judge - Justice Thurgood Marshall. A compelling speech was given - which is shown below by Senator Cory Booker - highlighting the importance of this particular confirmation hearing to the Supreme Court:
After this inspiring speech, news anchors and mouthpieces such as Laura Ingraham decided to mock Senator Cory Booker. But, as usual, the commentation is just noise and will be drowned out soon by other disinformation by Fox News.
The importance of this confirmation to the Supreme Court cannot be overstated. Further, diversity and inclusion have gained traction throughout society over the last few decades. Let's continue to include those who are under-represented in the community. Make the world a more inclusive and diverse world. As a result, the world will be a better place.
The first lady to be placed into the position of Secretary of State, Madeleine Albright earned every accolade which has been awarded to her. Over her lifetime, the former Secretary of State has been a champion of human rights and democracy. She arrived as an immigrant and achieved the American dream. Instead of holding the opinion that women were limited, Madeleine Albright stated quite clearly that being a woman gave her an advantage. I admire that.
In a recent tribute by MSNBC's Morning Joe, Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski discuss the powerful and moving force of nature - the former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright:
In part one, Retired General David Petraeus led us through the initial motivation along with deficits of the Russian advance into the country of Ukraine. The update is shown below and worth watching - Part two from CNN:
Americans have a short memory. Especially, when it comes to international events. Events that seemingly do not affect them directly. Although, the supply chain is negatively impacted along with directly impacting American gasoline prices. In the video below by MSNBC, Joe Scarborough presents images after a Russian strike - Ukrainian people trying to flee:
Take a moment and think about how would you stand up being put into that situation today? Further, imagine that the invading country has isolated its people against news reports of the realities of the Russian strike to Ukraine. Try to explain to family members in Russia that the Russian soldiers are striking their territory. How would that feel?
When I look into the picture above, the first question that comes to mind is: Why aren't those soldier wearing respirators or personal protection equipment (i.e., PPE)? While standing within feet of toxic smoke. Even if the smoke was not considered toxic, does that smoke look like gas that would nice to breath in? Take a huge breath of that smoke in...Oh boy.
The military does not have to play by the same regulatory rules that others have too in the nation. Especially, when overseas in a restricted area. Part of the reason is that the military could construct a city out of supplies shipped into the land - very easily. The only issue is the waste that is generated on a daily basis. Where does that waste go?
If you have been deployed to the Middle East, chances are, burn pits have been near the location that you called a temporary home. To discuss the problems and solutions facing Congress, MSNBC Morning Joe -- Joe Scarborough interviews Congressman Takano and actor/comedian/activist Jon Stewart in the following video segment shown below:
The take-aways from the video above are the following:
1) Congress would like to find a way to side-step linking burn pits to cancer.
2) Veterans do get discounts at various places across the nation.
3) Burn pits are not ever going away.
First, Congress will try to get out of paying for what they are personally responsible for funding. That is, the cost of war. The cost of war includes the problems with the veterans after returning hom and integrating into society.
The cost of war is giving veterans discounts at various places across the US. But that is nothing compared to the true cost of war -- rehabilitation and treatment. Which is badly needed.
It is time to accept responsibility and treat/pay the price of sending people to dangerous situations. Take care of the veterans.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has undoubtedly caused problems for the entire world over the last couple of decades. Most recently, Russia's engagement in interfering with the United States Presidential Elections in 2016 was most notable. In addition, invading Ukraine with Russian forces has pushed Putin to the top of the 'Most Annoying In The World' list.
Russian forces have moved into Kyiv believing that a celebration was happening. Instead, the convoy was met with Molotov cocktails and bullets. Bodies of activists would stop the convoy in protest. These confused Russian soldiers quickly learned that they were sent for war, not for celebration.
Deceived as they were, their presence is still alarming and causing havoc on world economies and supply chains around the world. With this in mind, one must wonder what the motivation of Russian President Vladimir Putin really is? Where does Russia go from here?
These questions are entirely reasonable. MSNBC's Lawrence O'Donnell interviewed The New Yorker's editor David Remnick on Russia to answer questions. The video is shown below and is 8 minutes in length. David Remnick was awarded the Pulitzer Prize in 1994 for his book titled "Lenin's Tomb: The Last Days of the Soviet Empire."
Politicians are notorious for telling falsehoods. Speaking in generalities when confronted with critical questions. Don't question what he/she says, just trust them right? Above all, politicians believe that they are truly above the law - which is sad.
In the following video from WFLA Channel 8, a police officer has pulled over and is citing a Congressional Candidate Martin Hyde (of):
What a piece of work that lying politicians are? This is a perfect example of a person being convinced that they are above the law. Further, Martin Hyde does not deserve to represent any American state or district in the United States Congress.
A large number of Americans have no clue as to the extent of the United States government in the involvement of the current crisis in Ukraine. Each day, Americans sit at night in their comfortable homes and eat while watching sitcoms or binging Netflix shows content with a workday finished. While on the other side of the world, Ukrainians are fighting back Russian soldiers who have tried to invade the capital of Ukraine -- the city of Kyiv.
In the video below, a CNN reporter on the ground in Ukraine walks us through a battle zone on the side of the road. Where Russian soldiers were defeated by Ukrainians:
As stated in the video above, some of the artillery was supplied by the United States along with other NATO allies. This unnecessary death needs to end now.
