What goes on behind closed doors is kept quiet for years for most families. Why? Maybe revealing such destruction is too painful and embarrassing for each member. Maybe each member of the family might feel guilt. Regardless, family abuse (domestic violence) is never good and needs to be reported along with rooting out the potential problem. As a father of a 1-year-old, the question is lingering in my mind:
How bad does a home situation have to be to drown three young children?
That is an open-ended question to which there is no easy answer at this time. The incident highlights a large amount of unknown which resides behind the walls of each house. That unknown can be good or bad or a combination of both.
