Republicans Want To Legitimate Their Vote But Illegitimate Presidential Votes?

Over the past few years, the Republican party has allowed President Trump to act on behalf of the party.  This means that the United States' current division due to a racist, bigot, unprecedented President - is a reflection of the Republican party.  Yes, that is true.

With that being said, the current behavior of GOP lawmakers on Capitol Hill is absolutely amazing.  The Associated Press reports that GOP lawmakers are alright (i.e., in agreement) that the votes counted to date, which supports their re-election, are legitimate.  The problem lies in the bizarre declaration that the same GOP lawmakers say that the votes need to be certified to ensure President Trump got fair election results.

What is the problem?

Well, voters filled out ONE BALLOT ONLY for the election.

This means that if the ballot count for the President of the United States is in question, then the same ballot is in question - the results of which certified the same GOP lawmakers.

This is to say, if Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is questioning the election results for the President of the United States, then by logic, the same results which named him the victor of re-election would be in question too.

Senators Lindsey Graham, Mitch McConnell, and other GOP lawmakers should be confident in the election results.  Call the results certified.  You cannot have it both ways.  Either you were re-elected with the same ballot that certified the new President to be (Joe Biden) or not!
