Senator Amy Klobuchar Announces Climate Plan

Source: AXIOS

Any presidential candidate who plans to run for the upcoming 2020 election must have included a plan for combatting climate change on their platform of important issues.  That is a least.  Especially, with all of the lack of climate plans over the last 2 and 1/2 years with President Trump.  His administration has clearly lacked any directive to move forward toward combatting climate change which is depressing.  How does the leader of the free world not have a plan to combat climate change?

Over the Labor Day weekend, Presidential Candidate Senator Amy Klobuchar announced her climate change plan:

KLOBUCHAR REVEALS CLIMATE PLAN: Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar unveiled a plan over the weekend to combat climate change ahead of CNN's town hall Wednesday on the topic. Under her plan, Klobuchar pledges in her first 100 days to keep the U.S. in the Paris climate agreement, restore the Obama-era Clean Power Plan and fuel economy standards, and work with Congress to pass "sweeping legislation" to put the U.S. on a path toward 100 percent net-zero emissions by 2050.

Her plan can be viewed by clicking here.  The unveiling of the climate plan comes on the brink of the September 4th Democratic debate in Houston.  With climate change playing a prominent role in the 2020 election, each candidate's plan needs to be legitimate and affordable.  Climate change poses threats to the West and East Coasts of the United States.  Rising sea levels along with more frequent storms (of large magnitude) on an annual basis continue to threat cities across the U.S.  The issue of climate change is more important than ever in this election cycle.

Especially, given the lack of support for a working solution to climate change not available on the world stage from the free world.  Leaders from across the world are holding off until a new president occupies the White House.  Which is sad to say.  The need for action is now.  Any workable plan should be made public for the citizens of this great nation to review and learn about.  At least, the discussion is starting in the presidential debates now.  Stay tuned.
